Private Counselling

At Daintree Counselling, we offer private online counselling for teens and young adults. Counselling provides a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges, and develop strategies for coping, growth, and wellbeing.

How Counselling Can Help

Counsellors are trained to work with a wide range of life challenges, including:

  • Anxiety, stress, and low mood
  • Relationship issues and communication difficulties
  • Self-esteem and self-confidence
  • Life transitions, grief, and loss
  • Coping with daily stressors and building resilience
  • Boundaries, decision-making, and personal growth

Counsellors provide guidance, emotional support, and skill-building to help you navigate these challenges, all within a non-judgmental, client-centered approach.

Cost and Accessibility

Counselling sessions are private and are not eligible for Medicare rebates, but in many cases, the gap fee for seeing a psychologist is the same or even higher than the cost of seeing a counsellor. For example, a standard psychologist session in Australia might cost around $220–$300 with Medicare rebates leaving a gap of $120-$210 to be paid. In comparison, a counselling session can cost around $110–$160, meaning you often pay the same amount for the support you need—but with shorter wait times and more flexible online access.

Counselling is a practical, cost-effective option to get the mental health support you need sooner.

Why Choose Daintree Counselling?

  • A compassionate, client-centered approach tailored to your goals
  • Flexible online access, no matter where you live
  • Professional experience across a wide range of ages and needs
  • Focus on helping you achieve meaningful, practical outcomes
